At the moment the two main techniques used to form lab grown diamonds are CVD & HPHT. Both methods create a diamond within laboratory by a carbon seed in one to two weeks.CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) grows diamond in a plasma reactor / chamber that contains mixture of carbon-rich gases. Meanwhile, HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) conducts the diamond-growing process using a large mechanical press & mimics the condition of how natural diamonds are formed within the earth crust with extreme heat and pressure. Both ways provide a rich carbon source to let the seed crystalises layer by layer/grows.
